The WBFDCL sells round timber and firewood harvested from the forests of Kalimpong Division through public auctions or tenders. It also sells round timber and firewood harvested from other Forest Divisions in North and South Bengal as an agent of the Forest Directorate through public auctions or tenders. Major species in North Bengal include Sal, Teak, Gamar, Sissoo, Champ, Jarul, Panisaj, Pakasaj, Chikrasi, Chilune, Dhupi, Pipli, Utis, etc. Major species in South Bengal include Sal, Eucalyptus, Akashmani, Minjari, etc. For details, please refer to the Section: Auctions and Tenders.
The WBFDCL also supplies pulpwood to the Paper Mills and poles, posts and cogging sleepers to the Mining Companies with the approval of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), West Bengal and at prices fixed by the State Government.
